Hello
Hope all is well there with you - I just wanted to give you an update on some new activity.
Firstly, I’ve been working to further develop my work in west Wales and as such, have been busy making new photographs, particularly of stones. I’ve had a long-time fascination with rocky outcrops, marker stones and the ways stone is displayed in architecture. During the last couple of years I withdrew from using social media as a platform for sharing work but have just re-engaged and launched an Instagram account. To see my work from west Wales please follow the link or click the image below.
Secondly, having concluded that I am unlikely to make new work in the south Wales Valleys I have launched Valleys Redux on the new Threads social media platform. Here I will be sharing previously unseen material along with insights into the development of my projects in the Valleys with images from the collection. To see Valleys Redux please follow the link or click the image below.
Last, but certainly not least, I have had the great pleasure to meet and work with Valleys photographer Walter Waygood over the last few months. Walter will soon be having an exhibition of his photographs The Family of Blaenavon at Blaenavon Workmen’s Hall. He kindly asked me to write an essay for the accompanying publication - the essay is entitled Walter Waygood: Man of Mystery. I will update you with further details in the coming weeks.
Until then, please take a look/connect with my new social media platforms - still early days - I will be adding material daily (when not making photographs).
Take care
Paul
